This sneaker is a collaboration with Olivia Kim, Nordstrom's VP of Creative Projects, and is part of her "No Cover" collection celebrating '90s New York street style and the exclusivity of '90s sneaker culture that often overlooked women. It draws inspiration from the Air Jordan 4 "Black Cat" but elevates the design with a luxe, monochromatic look. The upper is completely blacked out, featuring a premium pony hair (or bovine fur) material replacing the traditional mesh and leather panels. Glossy black rubber and hardware accents complete the all-black aesthetic. It is also notable for being one of the first women's Air Jordan 4 releases to feature the classic 'Nike Air' branding on the heel tab instead of the Jumpman logo.
