This sneaker is a nod to the legendary "Banned" marketing story from 1985, where Michael Jordan was fined for wearing the original Black/Red Air Jordan 1 on court. The color blocking is heavily inspired by the classic "Shadow" colorway, featuring a black base with Particle Grey accents on the toe box, heel, and ankle flap. The standout feature is the all-over text print in a graffiti-like script, which features the phrase "They Can't Stop You From Wearing Them," a direct quote from the original 1985 Nike commercial that defied the NBA's rules. A large, bright Red "X" is printed on the heel of each shoe to commemorate the "banned" history.
