The Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Thunder' (2006) was the original release of this colorway, which was inspired by Michael Jordan's Motorsports team and his passion for motorbikes. It features an upper constructed almost entirely of black nubuck, giving it a premium look. The striking 'Tour Yellow' color is used for the accents, notably appearing on the netting underlays, the tongue lining, and the majority of the midsole, creating a high-contrast look against the black upper. White is minimally used on the Jumpman logos on the heel and outsole. This 2006 version was a highly exclusive release, originally sold only on the Jumpman23 website and came bundled with a matching jacket for a premium retail price.
