This colorway, often nicknamed "Melo," was a general release version of a Player Exclusive (PE) that Carmelo Anthony wore during his rookie season with the Denver Nuggets. The shoe features a predominantly white leather upper with a Carolina Blue (also called University Blue) heel cup and piping, along with Varsity Maize (yellow) accents on the tongue logo and the heel's "NIKE" branding (which was "MELO" on Anthony's personal PE pair). The color scheme pays homage to the Denver Nuggets' team colors.
