The "Raptor" colorway features an upper constructed primarily of Black nubuck, giving it a sleek, matte finish. Dark Charcoal is used on the neoprene inner bootie. The popular nickname comes from the accent colors, which resemble the original uniform colors of the Toronto Raptors (who did not exist when the shoe first released in 1992). True Red (a bright red) and a deep purple (often identified as Fierce Purple or by the Dark Charcoal color code on the midsole) appear on the iconic geometric patterns of the midsole and the signature rubber tongue and outsole.
