The Air Jordan 5 Retro 'Michigan Wolverines' PE is an extremely rare Player Exclusive sneaker made specifically for the athletes and staff of the University of Michigan, an athletic program sponsored by the Jordan Brand. The shoe features the university's color scheme with a College Navy nubuck or suede upper. The tongue and the distinctive 'shark tooth' detailing on the midsole are also in College Navy. The 'Army' or 'Amarillo' (yellow) color is used for the signature accents, most notably on the Jumpman logos and the midsole detailing. The most unique features are the University of Michigan's "M" logo embroidered on the tongue in place of the usual Jumpman, and the number "23" stitched onto the heel. The shoe sits atop a translucent outsole. As a Player Exclusive, this pair was never released to the public and is only available on the secondary market.
