This Air Jordan 1 Mid Nouveau was released to celebrate the 2014 Chinese New Year, the Year of the Horse (YOTH). The upper is primarily a polished, textured Deep Royal Blue leather, complemented by Black accents on the laces, collar, and side panels. A bright contrast is introduced by the Red Violet or Red Volt color on the Swoosh and an abstract, colorful graphic print. This multicolored graphic is used on the sockliner, the asymmetrical tongue labels, and is visible through the translucent rubber outsole, giving the shoe a commemorative and vibrant finish. The Wings logo on the ankle is enameled, a feature of the Nouveau line.
