The "SP" suffix on the model name stands for "Special Project." This sneaker marks the first highly-coveted collaboration between Nike SB (Skateboarding) and Jordan Brand on the Air Jordan 4 silhouette. The design is engineered with skateboarding in mind, featuring a revamped rubber outsole with a gum section for better grip, a thinner forefoot shape for improved "flick," and a more flexible plastic construction on the wings and heel tab.
