This 2003 retro is a mid-cut version of the Air Jordan 1, which was common for non-OG (Original) retros at the time, typically featuring eight lace holes instead of the original's nine. The entire upper is constructed from patent leather, giving the classic "Chicago Bulls" colors—Varsity Red, White, and Black—a high-gloss, flashy finish that was popular in the early 2000s. The color blocking is true to the "Chicago" theme, with a white toe box and mid-panel, Varsity Red overlays, and black on the collar and heel. A notable feature is the use of the Jumpman logo on the tongue and heel, replacing the original "Nike Air" branding.
