The Air Jordan 5 Retro NRG 'Fresh Prince' was released to celebrate Will Smith's 50th birthday, paying homage to his character Will's penchant for wearing the Air Jordan 5 on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air—specifically, the 'Grape' colorway worn without laces. This model features a white leather upper with classic Grape Ice and New Emerald accents on the tongue lining and midsole, mirroring the original 'Grape' colorway. A defining feature is the absence of the lace toggle and the fact that the eyelets are entirely sealed, forcing the wearer to go laceless like the Fresh Prince. The inside of the tongue features the text "WEST PHILADELPHIA" and the insole has a custom 'Air Jordan' graphic written in the show's graffiti-style title font.
